Edgar, a Venezuelan who moved to Spain 15 years ago, shares how he was healed from a debilitating chronic disease while attending Alpha.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edgar Romero was suffering severely from M\u00e9ni\u00e8re’s disease \u2013 a disorder of the inner ear \u2013 which had completely stripped him of his independence, leaving him with a deep sense of despair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a disease associated with vertigo, dizziness, nausea and vomiting,\u201d he explains. \u201cI had reached a point where it had completely disabled me: I couldn\u2019t go to the bathroom by myself, I couldn\u2019t do anything \u2013 I needed someone with me at all times. I lived with bruises all over my body from falling on the stairs and knocking myself on the wall and everything else.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lowest point<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was at this lowest point when his wife was invited to attend the Alpha course. Wanting to give her husband something positive to focus on, she invited him to attend with her, which he accepted. He found it a transformative experience, both spiritually and physically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat I liked most about Alpha was how sincere everyone was, and how good it felt to talk about God,” comments Edgar. “Each session was like being in a different world, renewing faith each time.\u201d And he noticed something incredible: \u201cAll these problems that I was having with M\u00e9ni\u00e8re’s disease were fading away as I went through the Alpha course. It was like I was being born again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the course went on, I saw the changes \u2013 not only the healing <\/mark>
of his illness but also the healing <\/mark>
of his heart.<\/mark><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

His wife also noticed a profound and steady change in her husband each week: \u201cAs the course went on, I saw the changes \u2013 not only the healing of his illness but also the healing of his heart. Before Alpha, he had quite a volatile character. It is striking how different he is now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to normal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the Alpha course, Edgar had a moment of panic because he couldn\u2019t find one of the ear plugs that he used to wear daily, because the disease had made any noise unbearable for him. \u201cBut then I realised that I no longer needed it,\u201d he smiles. \u201cI removed the other ear plug, and it felt practically back to normal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medical check-ups straight after Alpha indicated that Edgar\u2019s hearing levels, which had been affected by the disease, were back to normal, and that there were no signs of inflammation or any other problems. His pain and dizziness were gone, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI told the doctors that faith had restored me \u2013 there is no scientific explanation for what happened,\u201d he says. One of the doctors told Edgar that he agreed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Edgar gets emotional when he talks about the many people who prayed for his healing. \u201cThat touched me so deeply. I have no words to express how I feel now that I am well. I feel so blessed by God to have been healed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
