He was part of a small team from a larger Pentecostal church in Bremen, Germany, which planted Komm Church in Weyhe \u2013 a small town a short drive from Bremen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Outstanding quality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They decided to use Alpha because of its \u201creally outstanding quality materials\u201d, Janno shares, and because it helps establish an outward-facing mindset that resonates with the church plant\u2019s vision \u2013 <em>\u2018We love through personal encounters\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe started in 2022 with five small groups in which we did the Alpha course, with around 35 adults and 15 children,\u201d he recalls. \u201cAlpha helped us implement a culture that many churches struggle with in their small groups: that everyone can share their opinion openly, without judgment, and that it\u2019s important to keep inviting people to a course or service.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Significant growth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This culture has led to significant growth. Today, Komm Church welcomes around 100 adults and 40 children on a typical Sunday. And the impact goes far beyond attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c90% of the baptisms over the last three years were people who attended an Alpha course,\u201d Janno says. \u201cAnd Alpha is the number one tool to get in close touch with people who recently joined our church. We get to know them deeply and are able to integrate them into church life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"827\" src=\"https:\/\/alpha-emena.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/12\/23DK0369GoDi-Nr16-Elke-Yaroslav_kl.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6873\" style=\"width:353px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of those people is Emma*. After having her second child she felt isolated and low, until someone invited her to <em>Komm.Ladies<\/em> \u2013 an event where women from inside and outside the church gather for cocktails and conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI felt really comfortable there and was later invited to a church service,\u201d Emma shares. \u201cThat led to many more services, a small group, an Alpha course, and countless encounters and conversations with incredibly loving people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her husband, initially sceptical, also became part of the church community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur life isn\u2019t perfect but I feel like we\u2019re exactly where we\u2019re meant to be. It took a while for me to find God, but thankfully he\u2019s patient,\u201d she smiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>*Name changed to protect privacy<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
